The Art Shop Skipton is very proud to once again be working in association with the norths leading art event Art in the Pen.  

Art in the Pen takes place every August at Skipton Auction Mart. It’s the place to be to view over 200 artists beautiful works.  

As with previous years we’re once again coming along and brining exciting additions, plus some very exciting ones new for 2019. This is just some of what you can expect us to be bringing to the 2019 event:

Pop up shop (Main Ring)

We’ll be setting up our pop up shop providing you with a huge range of high quality art materials at exclusive show prices. Some of the amazing brands you can expect to find during Art in the Pen are; Winsor & Newton, Derwent Pencils, Unison Soft Pastels, Hahnemuhle, Pebeo, Uni POSCA and many more! If that’s not enough, we’ll also be giving you the chance to try before you buy on selected product ranges. 

Free Art Demonstrations (Main Ring)

There’s lots going on in the Main Ring, as well as our pop up shop we’ll also have a range of talented artists demonstrating and giving you expert tips and advice on how to improve your own works. These demonstrations will be happening continuously throughout the two-day event so you won’t miss out. Below is a list of our Artists and what they’ll be demonstrating:

Judith Selcuk – Derwent Inktense Pencils & Pan Sets

Live Art Theatre & Pebeo Zone (Lingfield Ring)

There’s even more happening in the Lindfield Ring which is situated in the middle of the pens. This ring features the Pebeo Zone. You’ll find the Pebeo tech tables each demonstrating a unique Pebeo product, giving you even more ideas on how Pebeo’s vast range of exciting products can be used.

Pebeo mural artist ARTISTA will also be there creating a 4-metre-long artwork with Pebeo Mat Pub mural paint, a sight to behold and one you’ll be able to keep popping in on to see the progress of throughout the event!

FREE WORKSHOPS WITH POSCA (Craven Ring)

We are very happy to announce Uni POSCA are joining us for the first time at Art in the Pen this year. As well as stocking a range of POSCA markers and sets at our pop-up store in the Main Ring POSCA have also taken over the Craven Ring. 

POSCA will be providing completely free of charge workshops in the Craven Ring throughout the event. 

 The workshop covers drawing amazing artwork on anything from Mugs to Pebbles using POSCA markers and will be hosted by renowned illustrator, street artist and POSCA ambassador SP:Zero. Some of his past work has included working with Lamborghini, Samsung and the BBC so you’ll be in safe hands!

If you take part in one of the workshops, you’ll walk home with your finished artwork and an A4 POSCA Pad. You’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win a huge set of 60 POSCA markers with carrying case worth over £260!

 The times of the workshops are 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00 on each day. As there are limited spaces, places will be given on a first come first serve basis. To reserve your free workshop place before the event, please email: [email protected]
