Art In The pen is back but not as you know it!

Since 2005 hundreds of artists have been transforming cattle pens into galleries to sell their original work.

Unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic exhibitors have had to lock up the gates of their pens and the event has had to close it’s physical doors.

But as we all adapt to these unusual times visitors can still enjoy an abundance of creativity and craftsmanship by making a digital outing around Art in the Pen Online. 

Take a virtual walk around the online cattle pens and discover new, emerging and established artists from every discipline.

The spotlight pages feature all the events artists with examples of their work and links to the artists websites, social and stores, so you can still connect with hundreds of artists from the comfort of your own home.

You can filter the artists by discipline, such as art, glass etc. and there is even a downloadable PDF brochure that’s ideal for browsing artists on the go with mobile devices.

Here at The Art Shop Skipton we wanted to do our part and that’s why we have donated a fantastic art supply bundle worth over £475. 

And whats better yet anyone who spends £5 on raffle tickets or donates to the events JustGiving page will be automatically be entered into a draw to win this amazing prize.

Cancelling Art in the Pen due to Covid-19 has put Art in the Pen, Crafts in the Pen and The Mart Theatre at risk of permanent closure in 2021. Yarndale and The Yorkshire Flea may also cease to run at Skipton Auction Mart.

The organisers have exhausted all potential grant schemes and are hoping that a JustGiving campaign can help save these wonderful events. Any donation, regardless of size is hugely appreciated.

Every donation to the JustGiving campaign helps to save these events, which have created over 4,000 exhibitor opportunities to small local businesses. The events have also welcomed over 100,000 visitors into Skipton and the surrounding area. 

Your donation will help them to keep their doors open to visitors for years to come.
