Sennelier Artist's Quality Oil Colour has been been used by many of the greatest artists (Cezanne, Monet, Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso, Bonnard, Modigliani, Chagall ...) and hangs in the walls of the world's most prestigious museums. Sennelier's passion for colour chemistry and pigment research led to the development of a distinctive oil colour manufacturing process that is still employed today.
Sennelier oil uses only the finest natural and inorganic pigments from around the world. The pure pigments are ground slowly and with extreme care to an extra-fine consistency. They are then combined at maximum concentration with archival safflower oil to yield the highest possible tinting strength and produce a lustrous satin finish.
Still of the finest quality, Sennelier Oil has expanded in colour range and has improved texture with a firmer body, to accommodate the requirements of the modern painter. Sennelier combine tradition and their heritage of oil colour with the innovations of modern chemistry to introduce the next generation of oils.
