It's that time of year again. The dark nights are drawing in, the leaves are starting to turn red, yellow and brown, and as we think about digging out our thicker coats and wooly hats for the first time it's time to start preparing for another autumnal tradition because Inktober is back!
A few brilliant examples of work we have found
Started in 2009 by renowned artist and illustrator Jake Parker, Inktober is a free month long drawing challenge and celebration of ink drawing that keeps growing and growing.
Artists and illustrators from all over the world now take on the challenge of creating an ink drawing a day for the entire month of October. Inktober aims to help improve peoples skills, inspire creativity, showcase work to the wider artistic community and generally be a whole lot of fun!
and a few more
There are no strict rules to Inktober, more guidelines. The challenge is to attempt to make an ink drawing everyday throughout the month. But if you only want to do it once every other day, once a week or just one or two times that's still fantastic, the aim is to enjoy yourself, improve your skills and celebrate ink drawing!
The drawings can be of anything you like but the official 2018 Inktober prompt list is there to help spark your creativity and gives each day a bit of a theme.
Post your drawings online and hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2018 and share your creations with the world.
Here at The Art Shop Skipton we have you covered for all your Inktober needs, with incredible offers running throughout the month on an array of pens, inks, brushes and pads the challenge is the perfect opportunity to stock up on your trusty inking needs or perhaps in the spirit of the challenge try something new.
